Too Busy to be Cold
This has been a packed week full of partial projects. Bathroom walls for a client DIYing their remodel, a 1960's fireplace hearth, and a subway backsplash for a mini kitchen update.
As always, I learned some great lessons this week. Purchase a water heater for the wet saw, always have an extra pair of demo gloves on hand, and buy the best tools the first time around.
The bathroom remodel used 12x24 Carrara Gris Porcelain Gloss from The Tile Shop. The client initially planned for the tile to stop with the shower wall, then decided to extend it across both walls. With small bathrooms, continuing the tile over the entire wall helps to make them feel larger.
The fireplace hearth put my demo skills to the test! After removing the tile and concrete it was set in, I installed 18x18 Silver White Polished Marble, also from The Tile Shop. The client had luxury vinyl floors installed between laying the tile and grouting. I love the transformation!
The final project for the week was White Brick Ceramic Tile by Festival, found at Floor & Decor. The client plans to remodel the kitchen in the near future. For now, she chose to update the backsplash, venthood, and cooktop. After several long days this week I really appreciated the classic subway. Plus I was able to cut all the tiles inside with my awesome snap cutter when we had a low of 9°F outside.
