There is nothing quite as satisfying as these immediate transformations. In two days the old tile can be removed, underlayment placed, new tile installed, and hearth grouted. A quick trip to caulk the perimeter joints and the project is complete.
I used Schluter Ditra for the first time on this project. I can't believe I'm so late to this product! Not only is cutting and installing it super easy, but you can tile immediately. Pretty phenomenal.
The homeowner had recently painted the fireplace face and noticed the original tiled hearth really stood out. To give it an update, she selected this beautiful Claros Silver Hex Travertine from The Tile Shop. I love how the natural stone blends the grey veining with white and tan to add depth. The variation in each tile makes it unique and especially fitting for the hearth.
I can't wait to see it after the homeowner touches up the fireplace face paint and paints the box!
