Backsplash, Shower, and Floor, Oh My!
I have been so busy tiling that I haven't had an opportunity for blogging! Here is a quick post for the last three projects I've worked on.
Honed Travertine Herringbone Backsplash
I think you all know by now that I love herringbone. At first I was surprised that this homeowner wanted to run the pattern vertically, now I'm certainly glad she did. I love how this turned out. Her next step is to paint the cabinets white and remove the wall paper.
Penny Tile Shower floor
After an improper install, this shower pan needed to be replaced. Tirelli Tile demoed the plan and poured and prepped for me to tile. This light gray unglazed porcelain from Festival has a great texture for a shower floor.
Textured Kitchen Floor
Polished floor tile can be slippery. After having a few close calls, these clients decided to replace their kitchen floor with textured porcelain stoneware tile. Even when wet, there will be no slipping on this tile.
After finishing the subfloor prep that DWD Home Services had started, I made my Ditra puzzle for the underlayment.
Next came the tile. Tirelli Tile is there today to install the quarter round and move the appliances back in. In the photo below the grout is spotty due to drying, and makes the tile look uneven. But you get the idea.
